Thought I ought to get rid of the displayed miserable journal that's been sitting here for about 4 months ...

So what's been happening since then?

A couple of trips to Europe - Paris and the Netherlands. A few pictures from the latter are being uploaded at the moment; the former need considerable sorting, deleting and irritation before I find the best.

Memories from the two? Great company, interesting conversation, good food, smallish quantities of alcohol, hot chocolate with whipped cream, legs that didn't feel as if they were part of the rest of me any more, ditto feet, the magic of the night-time illuminated Eiffel Tower, memories at Montmartre, being drenched in a cloudburst with cold rain-water dripping down the back of my neck, people who should really know better reliving their childhoods on stilts, almost seeing the sea again for the first time in about 8 years, live jazz, Indonesian food and so many brilliant things that I've probably forgotten.

Other than that ... I seem to be spending an awful lot of time in Aziroth in the world of World of Warcraft. I don't remember being so involved in a game since Caesar III back in 1998. It's so weird to have a game that continues happening while I'm not there and there's just so much to it.

Real Life and voluntary work also goes on apace. Am learning delegation in the latter; wish there was someone to delegate to in the former.

Finally a grandson should be born in the next couple of weeks. It was weird enough being a grandmother for the first time, grandmother of two seems ... unbelievable
